Australian Capital Territory


The Australian Capital Territory (ACT) is situated in the southern interior of New South Wales, includes the city of Canberra and its surrounding region, and covers a total area of approximately 2300 square kilometres. Its estimated resident population as at 30 June 2006 was 334 225 people.
