The Labour Market Information Portal (LMIP) is a major source of detailed employment information at the regional level. It includes employment data for ABS Labour Force Regions (LFRs) and administrative data for DEEWR Labour Market Regions (LMRs). |

The DEEWR Vacancy Report is published each month and provides information from the latest Skilled Vacancy Index, a snapshot of vacancies from the DEEWR Australian JobSearch vacancy board and a count of selected online websites for the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) vacancy index.
Other vacancy information sources include:- the ANZ Newspaper and Internet Job Vacancies Series, which is based on a count of skilled and unskilled vacancies from newspaper and online sources; the Olivier Group, which offers a free subscription service to their internet Job Index; the SEEK Employment Index; and the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), which provides quarterly estimates of job vacancies based on information obtained from a sample survey of employers.
The Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) has a Labour Economics Office (LEO) in each State and the Northern Territory. The LEO's conduct research into occupational labour markets including monitoring, analysis and reports on regional, industry and state labour market trends and on the economic trends that impact on State or Territory labour markets.
